Pump Action shotguns buying advice

Bloody hell

I really only wanted the spas and another combination gun I was thinking the Benelli series but not

going to state a model as there are at least 4 that I know of.

You see now I am aware I could go up to 8 section one shotguns but I think 2-3 will be plenty enough

I wish I had known this when I apply for them to be put on my FAC

Hi Mark

Yes it has, I have been quite busy since mid January, the fruits of which will soon be made evident ;)

Your SPAS would most likely fit into Standard Semi-Auto Division, it would not be allowed into pump division under the current rules, they must be dedicated pump guns only, so you could easily ask for a pump gun without any problem, get yourself a Supernova :good:

If you wanted a Benelli M series simply tell your FLO you want a gun for the Modified or Open Division, your spas would not be competitive in those divisions due to its lower magazine capacity & lack of barrel porting & optical/red dot sights.

Also I would not worry about using slug in your SPAS whatever the choke size (maybe not a superfull tho) the Sellier & Bellot sport slug will go down a full choke without any problems at all, what look like rifled vanes in the slug head are in fact nothing to do with making the slug spin in flight, they are there to give the lead somewhere to spread into when fired through a tight choke, I have used them & seen them used through full choke guns for many years without any problem.

Neil mate cheers for the advice

Sadly getting a spare barrel for the spas is like getting all 6 lottery numbers week after week.

SO until I can get another barrel (26" would be good) to fit the spas I don't fancy taking the risk

considering how hard the spas and its parts are to get plus the prices I have seen them go for

and My local RFD has a gunsmith work for him and he confirms the chances of it handling them are VERY slim

plus it is an 8 round shotgun.

plus it is an 8 round shotgun.

Thats why I said it would fit best into standard semi-auto which has a max capacity of 9 rounds loaded at the start. :good:

On a personal note a gun you cant use out of fear of breakage is effectively useless, I would dump it & get an M2, it will be the best decision you ever make, but thats just my opinion & if it makes you happy who is to argue with that.

Good luck whatever you do.

I would have to agree, but the pump actions look like much more fun
