home made flappers?

I was in my local gun shop on saturday looking at some sillosocks

flappers for my rotary, the bloke was selling them for £50 a pair.

I couldn't beleive how basic these things looked so i thought I'd

have a go at making a couple. Has anybody here tried making

any of these? if so what success have you had with them?

Also any tips on materials and what to do and what not to do etc.

Any suggestions appreciated. Dan.

Stubby??!

I see Im getting famous for my mad scientist moments :good:

have a look out for some "for sale signs" that have fallen over in the wind :whistling:

these are made from twinwall plastic sheet, simular to corrigated cardboard, you can cut, bend and staple this for the main body of the pigeon, the wings can then be made from the stiff material from an old roller blind, you'll need to spray it all grey and add the white stripes/flashes, use ultra violet white if you can get it, you can buy the thumb screw connectors for the underside/attachment to bouncer/magnet from evil bay, or as I did, used the nozzle's from tubes of contractors silicone (most DIY shops would probably give you a couple free) stapled inside the ar$e end of body, then they simply push fit, dont forget some fishing line to stop the wings spinning around, either buy the carbon rods for the wings, or use carbon fishing floats

thats my idea anyway, Ive only used the above way to make crow decoys with solid wings, not flappers
