No pictures as the camera is on charge for a trip to york tomorrow, however i did have rekki day on the rabbits, just seeing where they like to play at the moment. I have never used the mercury on rabbits as when prone i find the norica more comfortable. And also havent been out since before christmas, except for dealing with a serious tin can infestation, i set of at half 5 and got out the binoculars to look to my chosen field and as i watched there were three rabbits bouncing around the hill top, i continued and at a quarter to was set up and crawling towards my first target, not being overly confident with the mercury i wanted to make sure i was in a comfortable range and kept crawling closer, then the boom of a shotgun and its scarpers, so i get up walk to the "ditch" (just a dry dip that runs down the right handside of the field) and lay up and get the bipod out, lying there i see three rabbits take a shot at the closest which turned out not to be that close the shot dropped short, and i realised there had been a serious miscalculation and the rabbit was to far away, the noise made it scarper. One rabbit left now and in the top left so i crawled untill it stopped and i was convinced it had seen me, it turned around so i took the opertunity and got in position, it bounced offtowards the hedge before stopping and turning, fffttaang. a nice clean headshot, and the rabbit backflips into the hedge, and thankgod it was just getting dark, roast rabbit and big fat chips for dinner.

Yup - a few more weeks for them to grow some lovely succulent meat.

In truth after another 6 weeks plus and they will be delicious, incredibly tender and taste amazing with a bit of cajun spice :D God I love young rabbit!

I like the bipod purely for stability really. I dont find the mercury "lightweight" at all, - compared to my other guns. If all my guns were heavier then i guess i would find it lighter. I find the length of pull slightly awkward, with the but pad i have a perfect lenth of pull but cannot get a small enough eye releif for my scope, and without the but pad i get perfect eye relief but awkward lenth of pull. i keep meaning to buy some mounts that sort of hang over that would sort the problem. Hence why i dont hunt with it often but its such a great gun (as far as springers go) for shooting over vairable distance - probably because it has more power than others, contemplating FAC springer or sub 12 PCP, or even just a tuned QB to see what its like shooting recoilless although the shotgun is comeing first!
