Trash Man
I'm new to shooting and I'm looking to get my first gun in the next month or so. I've been offered, by a friend of a friend, a 3 year old 682 Gold E. It's his daughters gun and is in as new condition, with around 1500 shots through it. It comes with everything it would have had when new including the hard case and chokes. He's asking for £1400 for it. As I said, I'm new to shooting so have no idea how good of an offer this is, if at all. I've had a look on Guntrader and they seem to be anywhere from £1200 - £2200 S/H on there, that's a big difference. My original budget for my first gun was about £1200 but I thought this could be a good deal and if so would be willing to go to £1400. Thanks for any advice/help. Thunderbird
Make sure you hit things with it first though!
Trash Man
Make sure you hit things with it first though! Hehe, I've got a chance to use it at a shoot at the end of the month, so I'll be doing so then. I've been using a Baikial O/U with double triggers the last couple of times I've shot and do fairly well with that, so I'm hoping a "better" gun will help me see some improvements Edited March 4, 2011 by Trash Man
Thunderbird
If you're fairly normal build and the 682 hasn't been adjusted (check as it's been a girl's gun) it should fit OK, but at that price you can afford a proper fitting session! Gordon R
I have two 682E Gold guns and they both cost a large chunk more. Sounds like a bargain. Check for any cracks in the woodwork.
edr
I'm 15 and just brought a brand new one back in october, the ejectors were way out so they sent a new out a new one under warranty. They swapped the wood (exibhition wood) and sent a new action and barrels. I paid £2,000 from derek lee's near hornscastle in skegness and the gun was returned to me at the start of november. I really recommend them, great gun. The old/used one's have the thick laser cut chequering, while the new ones have chequring like a 682 LTD. EDR Will post some pictures if u want? Trash Man
Thanks for the replies, they are all appreciated I know for sure the stock as not been shorted but the butt pad has had some trimmed off it. How hard/much would it cost to get a new pad fitted if needed? What's involved in a fitting session? I am keen to get a gun and some lessons booked, would a fitting session be included in a lesson? Gordon R
Beretta 682E Gold have standard pads fitted. You can buy them on E**y and they take about one minute to fit. One went for £5 the other night. About £25 at a gunshop.
