PaulABF
I use 1/2 inch steele banding straps cut into 12" strips. Bent in a vice length ways for strength for about 6" then bent into a 'z' shape at the top for springiness. The end slots in the deek and once planted in ground they bob and weave with the slightest breeze. Best of all they cost nowt.
Cosd
For what they cost, the saving in making them really isn't going to be that great.
PaulABF
True, but they were made during work time, using work tools, and work banding steel. Getting paid for pursuing a hobby? Bonus.
