sutty
As the title suggests, Fellas i have a .22 rimmy (10/22) with synthetic stock, and am thinking of fitting a sling to it. I already have the sling and swivels from another rifle. (Parker Hale) My question, Is there any particular place on the butt i should pre- drill to fit the swivel, or is the stock thick/strong enough to be drilled anywere in that area. (Dont want to B**ls it up in the first week of getting it.) Thanks in advance for any input you can give. Regards Sutty.

Dave-G
Having produced fibreglass rotor blades for RC helicopters, my advice is contact the producer of the stock - unless it's a standard stock - in which case the producer of the gun. I say this because there is a good chance the shell of the stock was injected with expanding polyurethane foam, they may have placed formers in typical load bearing/handling areas. It's certainly worth the cost of a phone call or email - consider how you will feel if there are formers less than an inch or so from where you drill :*) The synthetic hogue stock on my ruger 10/22 had studs pre-fitted. There is also a sling available that doesn't need swivels - our freind Mr google would be able to find a "cheater sling" Edited March 14, 2006 by Dave-G

Browning GTS
I have screwed a swivel into the stock of my escort pump. Drilled a small guide hole and it went in no trouble. In fact now it has been in a few months it seems to be a lot harder to move, its like the stock has shrunk onto the thread.
sutty
Thanks fellas, I spoke to Viking Arms (the distributers) today and they said that it would be no trouble. They suggested i use "Uncle Mikes" swivels, (by a stroke of luck they sell them lol.) Anyway going to give it a go with the ones i have,so watch this space.
