countryside lass
I shoot with FCT virtually every time and I can honestly say it is the best value for money clay shoot in East Anglia. 100 bird sporting layout over 10 stands with unlimited clay within the alloted time (get there for an 11am prompt start), free hot drinks and biscuits and all for £22 - AND you get food at the local pub afterwards!! Hardly any queuing, just lots of good quality shooting. I do know that if you contact him beforehand, Alan Evans (all details on www.fairclaytargets.co.uk) will supply guns and tuition for beginners and novice shooters who do not have their own stuff, costs slightly more but again, he is much better value than anyone else I know. I started shooting about 2½ years ago, I only shoot once a fortnight and don't pick my gun up in-between. I'm shooting on average between 70-85/100 each time I shoot which isn't bad for a bird!! I've done 3 corporate shoots for the company I work for with FCT with another one booked and I can recommend this to anyone. Alan's a top bloke and a great instructor. FCT are also doing the clay shoots at Holkham and Chatsworth shows this year......
Kermit the frog
Sounds too good to be true, the clays are costing him £6 per 100, 200 = £12 if he is using 10 traps thats £7k plus 10 batteries £500 Insurance £500 to 1k per year, rent and rates on the ground, he has to put it on, service everything, He isn't making much! kermit
countryside lass
Won't argue with your figures Kermit but it definitely is £22 to shoot with FCT, I know because that's what I paid yesterday. Numbers vary from 50 -80 shooters (depending on the weather) which isn't bad considering they run twice a month. Auto traps on buttons and you score your own cards. No-birds don't cost you anything which makes a refreshing change from other clay grounds. Good variation in targets too and different layout each time - something for everyone. hitclays
i also shot there on sunday, and can asure you it is £22 .i did the 100 bird sporting then went back to a few targets i struggled on, shooting a total of 150 cartridges. Then to the pub for free food which is always very good.Regarding Alans profit margin i do know he buys in bulk so would get a better deal.last year he used over a million clays. As countryside lass pointed out Alan also runs the shooting at various country fairs and last year had 48 promatic traps at chatsworth alone,so obviously not a small outfit.
