iv finaly got some land where i will be able to apply for my FAC, neighbouring farm to where i shoot pigeons, iv been asked to shoot pigeons and rabbits, before i ask him if its ok to apply for my FAC on his land i was just wondering what involvement he would have to have in the process, do i show the FLO around the land or the farmer, i take he will have to speak to the farmer to make sure its his land, or can this be done via a phone call or letter.

cheers, lee

My FEO asked me to try and nominate land belonging to someone with a FAC that way it would be cleared and already on the system. With the FAC application pack from the police it included a form for the landowner to sign. His signature was the only part my friendly farmer played in the whole process.

If you go to the BASC website there is a 'Permission Slip' that you can download and get the land owner to complete and sign, Do a couple of copies and leave one with the landowner so he/she has your details, keep a copy with you whenever you're on your permission in case youre challenged.

Depending on what calibre you are planning to apply for, the land may already be cleared, If not then I think the way it goes is that It'll have to be cleared.

not always the case I know a few farms where the owner has FAC but its not cleared, usually because the farmer has had his ticket donkeys years.

As said the only involvement is to sign the permission slip or confirm to the police y phone that you have permission to shoot there. Then if its not cleared they will need to have a walk round to have a look
