Ok point taken, let me put it another way. Is there a usual time at which point the pigeons are not going to come in anymore. For example its not worth waiting around lets say 1 hour before dark or you need to be in place 3 hrs before sunset or you keep going until you cant see anymore?

ok less sarcastic version, usually worth getting in situ @ 2 hours before dusk and I keep going until they stop using that bit of wood or it is within 20 minutes of too dark to pick up/make my way home whilst able to see.Pigeons normally come into the bigger sitty trees at this time of year, have a bit of a coo/digest grub then drop lower down to bushes/evergreen/ivy cover for their kip.Find a couple of likely sitty trees and get comfy @ 5pm ish.

ATB.
