Cranfield
I have pink egg flies and white ones, I only use them on flowing water. I think they are supposed to represent salmon eggs. But, I,m not sure how many trout have ever seen a salmon egg. Perhaps its a "natural instinct" thingy.

Cranfield
"Salmon eggs" in still water ? How daft are trout ? Perhaps they represent something else.

everygoodnamewastaken
With the eggs, use a veary short leader and a sinking line, let it go to the very bottom and draw in slowly. Anotherone to try is a hook with some bread on it!!! Its hard to case with but the fishes love it
Cranfield
egnwt, if we are talking "bread", then maggots and worms are the top baits. But we don,t want to catch them too easily, do we.
everygoodnamewastaken
If we did we'd use fly spoons!
