Ferretboy111
Hello all, Have posted previously regarding a pair of ducks that I couldnt identify as couldnt get close to them, They are mandarin ducks... that are living in the cotswolds. Are these really common in Britain? I know some town ponds have them but find it rather random them being in the countryside. Cheers A
silver pigeon 3
Hi Mate, there are quite a few about in our neck of the woods. A lot of them are ones that bred at slimbridge and then flew elsewhere and there was also a chap breeding them near stonehouse and letting them fly loose, so a few pairs of them never returned. Another duck that is now a common sight near me is the North carolina tree duck, i know of 4 pairs that have built nest's this year. Very pretty to look at
39TDS
There were a pair of Mandarin ducks on my pond a week or so ago. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are common around here, but it's not the first time I have seen some.
