Frenchieboy
I know this is not a "Sporting Video" but I would hope that some of you might find it interesting. Every year at Easter time the Britannia Coconutters dance their way through Bacup and the surrounding area raising money for charity. Traditionally they stop at a great many pubs on route so as you can imagine the dancing might be a little out of step towards the end of the day! The history of the "nutters can be traced if you google "Britannia Coconutters". This short video was filmed from the flats where I live this morning! pigeonblasterian
I am quite pleased to see that some people are blacking their faces. Therefore sticking their fingers up at the politically correct brigade.
Gordon R
Frenchieboy - I saw the Britannia Coconutters many times as a kid, growing up in the Rossendale Valley. I didn't realise you lived in Bacup. Did you ever shoot at the Deerplay - just a couple of miles up Burnley Road on the right, next to the pub? Yes Gordon, I have several permissions up through Weir and I know the Deerplay area quite well, in fact that is where Archie1234 and I were lamping foxes last night! Most of my shooting is done in the Rossendale Valley. Are you local, if so then it would always be possible to meet up and have a few shots together!
