spiceychilli57
Anybody living around the Winchester area with a FAC or SGC will propably had a visit from the FEO there. He is unfortunately retiring soon :( He is to be replaced by a normal beat plod!!! A normal bobby doing firearms applications? What happens if the you 'ask your feo' about something and he hasnt got a clue? Suppose we were very privileged to have a very dedicated and knowledgeable guy for so many years He will be missed
Rushjob
I know several "normal beat plod" as you put it, who are very knowledgable and accomplished shooters / stalkers and outdoorsmen. Then again, I try to judge people on how I find them, not just make assumptions as to what they are like before I meet them....... You do realise that many FEO's were normal beat plods before they became FEO's don't you?

ajb403
I think he may have been my FEO when I was living in Southampton, if it's who I think it is, he's a good chap. He is to be replaced by a normal beat plod!!! A normal bobby doing firearms applications? What happens if the you 'ask your feo' about something and he hasnt got a clue? Could be worse though, when I moved to Somerset I found out my new FEO is a 29 year old lass who got the job having started on the data input side of the job and has virtually no hands on shooting experience.... Thats what im worried about. I know there are probably very knowledgable people who are normal officers as well as being an feo but i can imagine someone being told they are now an feo with no prior experience and only taking the job as it pays a bit more. Hopefully that wont be the case at all
DSPUK
after Hungerford my very first visit was by a young WPC who when she saw my metalic blue gun cabinet said "Oh that's a nice blue" - fortunately things got better quite quickly.
