  1. For decades now those involved in legal fieldsports (hunting, shooting, fishing, trapping, etc.) have been subjected to a barrage of abuse, both verbally and more increasingly, physically by 'hunt saboteurs'. This harassment of those involved in legal fieldsports should be made an offence. In the US they have Hunter Harassment Laws, these include: "Impeding or obstructing a person who is engaged in lawful hunting, fishing or trapping. This could include trying to get in the way of a sportsman." "Impeding or obstructing a person who is engaged in a lawful activity." It's also an offence to scare away game so it can't be hunted. We need similar laws in the UK to stop the harassment of those participating in legal fieldsports activities. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/164891 https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/164891
  2. Great to see willingness to pass experience on Yeovil not in Hampshire at my last check, maybe mention which end of the county you are
  3. Hi and welcome to the PW massive Theres quite a few of us here from around 'ampshire with varying shooting interests
  4. Think theres some wrong end of the stick being grabbed here. I dont imagine our neighbor is going to shoot the woman's dog, we all know that would be the last thing anybody wants. I asked regarding the law of discharging a firearm on property you dont own even when being used in line with the law of guarding livestock. If anybody knew of any cases of it happening. Ok thank you. I didnt think armed trespass was a thing in the uk as we dont have trespass laws as such? and i could respond to that the same. Thanks for sharing.
  5. The law is in the farmers favour of shooting a dog worrying sheep on ground the farmer owns or has permission, i dont know how it stands using a firearm if you dont own the ground or its common land ie public. If it was our sheep you would of found my old man chasing the dog round the field himself with steam coming out of his ears then the rams in there the next day if the dog managed to escape the red faced farmer
  6. Wondered if anybody had any experience with these difficult circumstances. Thankfully im not in this situation myself but it came up in conversation round the dinner table last night. We lamb sheep and run a flock so are used to knowing how to take care of the animals etc. The situation is that our neighbor has some of his sheep on some grass owned by a third party. The agreement we believe is for his animals to keep the grass tidy etc. As both parties have something to gain no money trades hands. The owner of the land was walking next to the field with sheep in, her Labrador dog is chasing the sheep round and round the field, pinning them in the corner, splitting them apart etc. This is not good for the welfare for the sheep at all as you would imagine. The owner does not care in the slightest. If they were pregnant the stress could case a loss of the lambs carried and many other health problems. The law allows farmers to shoot a dog if it is worrying livestock. The law also says firearms have to be used on land where permission has been given. In this circumstance can the farmer still shoot the dog even though its not his land? What about if the sheep were grazing on common land? Farmers Weekly wrote a interesting article on it which explains a lot of points very clearly but doesnt cover ground not owned by the farmer. http://www.fwi.co.uk/farm-life/your-legal-rights-on-shooting-dogs-on-your-land.htm
  7. I would be up for some clays but can only do weekends.

  10. 5t/acre of WB on the chalk ground here. With a £30/t premium for being a seed crop isnt to be sneezed at. For those not involved with farming yields here is an interesting graph of prices over the last few years and what farmers are having to put up with this year. http://thefarmingforum.co.uk/grain-markets
  11. Three counties at Basingstoke http://www.chalkyhill.co.uk/index.php?page_id=1003 Next shoot is 21st June. Four counties is a good shoot as well.
  12. This vid is a good watch if you know nothing of road racing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU-ynRoqDEs Warning; you may find yourself gawking in amazement at your screen that these people are still alive
  13. I was made aware of this article on Countryfile today. First thoughts, Dailymail, not worth reading. But... it brings up some important points and is surprisingly well written for the Dailymail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2966166/Countryfile-BETRAYS-countryside-7-million-watch-CHRISTOPHER-BOOKER-says-BBC-s-flagship-ignores-rural-Britain-s-real-problems.html
  14. A friend of mine runs a company that does all the vehicle maintenance and modifications when they are doing filming here and abroad. He says the three presenters all all complete idiots and all they do as little driving as they can. They turn up from the hotel, do the close up bits they are needed to in front the wheel then go back to the hotel. The crew drive the cars the long distances. When they have a break down, and they say "it took me all night but i fixed it" they are lying through their back teeth. Its entertaining though when you ring him up when he is abroad and ask what he is up to, and he replies "fitting dual wheels to an mx5" or something. He isn't allowed to say where he is. The entertainment factor went out of it when it became as scripted as an episode of casualty or Eastenders. The live shows are entertaining enough, lots of screaming about in a tight space with tyre smoke etc. Worth going if you havent been before.
  15. Called the Phoenix Shooting Club. Im not sure if it packed up though as can never find any details on the old tinter web. I know a chap in the village who i went there with a few times, will see if i can find out.
  16. The dates are alternating weekends with the chalky hill ground. Its on their website. http://www.chalkyhill.co.uk/index.php?page_id=1003
  17. Yes it was Popham and Chalky hill on Sunday 30th November. Chalky hill isnt too bad, its around the outside of a field shooting in, varied (ish) birds, but be prepared to queue. If its a trek theres maybe others I would look to first. A better bet is the alternating shoot with Chalky hill run by the same guys on the other weekends, Three Counties. That is a good shoot, well laid out and worth a visit.
  18. I refuse to go now due to the prices. Time and money to get there, park, squabble for the right seats, watching the excessively tall bloke walk in and even after muttering "please god no, no, no!!" to yourself he still sits in the seat right in front. Then the adverts. I enjoy the trailers but i can watch them at home as well. Ive found an android app that allows me to download brand new movies and tv series' at the touch of a button. Couple of minutes to download on the wifi, flick it to the tv in front the sofa and grab a beer from the fridge, heaven. If anybody is interested a google search of "show box app" might yield a good result
  19. When the computer starts up, go into the bios and alter which drive the operating system boots from. When you add the new drive it must be changing the boot list to have the new one at the top. It cant find windows on it so it gives the error.

  22. Morning all, http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/28085321 Being reasonable people on here who know how the world works and enjoy hunting in the UK as well as other countries, I wondered what your opinions are on this story?
  23. Thanks for all the offers, i am looking for one with more shots than 4 ideally. Unfortunately the supermagnum wont cycle the 21g carts I occasionally put through. I am considering an 8 shot escort for the price
