steve_b_wales
I intend to fit a picatinny rail to my Tikka T3, to use in conjuction with NV. The rail however, does not come with the screws. Does anyone know where I can purchase 4 screws? I presume that they are a standard thread size fitting. Cheers Steve.
JJsDad
I can probably help you out with a couple, but you are going to have to come up with the thread size. I would suggest on a Tikka they are metric but what size ? 3mm, 4mm. Also need head type and required thread length. The term standard size unfortunately means nothing. If you are really stuck PM me & I will post you a couple to try. Edited May 23, 2011 by JJsDad

Not sure of size yet, but will see my mate who threads barrels etc, and see what he says about them. I'll keep you in mind, should I fail to get some off him. Regards Steve. JJsDad
No offence meant; but in the light of your reply, what was the point of the question in the first place !
CharlieT
No offence meant; but in the light of your reply, what was the point of the question in the first place ! I guess like me he thought they were a standard size and someone would answer that you could buy them from so and so for 10p each, which is what I was hoping as I need some. However, as you kindly pointed out that we need to have a degree in engineering to facilitate the measuring of some strange metric size whole the OP politely and with tact said thank you and bowed out. JJsDad
You dont need a degree in anything to measure the depth of a hole with a match stick and then measure it with a rule. The point I was making is that there is no such thing as a standard screw. I take it from your response that you dont want any either ! steve_b_wales
No offence meant; but in the light of your reply, what was the point of the question in the first place ! Further to my reply to your offer, I am grateful for your offer. I have been told that I may have to purchase a dedicated picatinny rail for my Tikka T3, which If this is going to cost me too much expense, then I'll manage with my original set up. I have a Cobra Merlin NV monocular with day scope adaptor. In use, it makes looking through the scope a bit uncomfortable, so I was thinking of fitting the picatinny rail to allow me to fit the scope futher forwards. But,unless the rail is extra long, I don't think it would be worth doing it. My mate who is an RFD, is going to look at my set up and give me his advice. Thanks again for your offer of help, and, no offence has been taken. Steve.
