Could be during the winter. Is it going to have animals put on it at some point? We only have it in one of our cover strips and the pigeons pour into it during the season. As it is one of my main drives I dont dare touch it, and when the season is over there are no where near as many pigeons on it, typical! I see your from Hampshire, where bouts do you shoot mate?

In the Winters past, just about the only green crop about was kale and the pigeons were all over it.

With the emergence of rape, the pigeons have something else to feed on and (probably coincidentally) you don't seem to see as much kale about nowadays.

It will certainly be worth keeping an eye on.

I had some good bags on kale undesown with sheep turnip during the winter, only thing above the snow. Year before last the same. Also got a lot of damage from geese & ducks due to its location. Shot well even after the sheep had been moved, all depends on what foods available to them. Well worth keeping an eye on, never seen any feeding on it down my way till the weather gets cold.
