UKPoacher
Can someone tell me how to identify a crow from a rook before kent fall's off his high horse. Crows have black beaks and faces whereas rooks have pale beaks and faces. Crows are found in ones and twos at this time of year, rooks are communal. As for high horse; You have no reason to shoot them. Kent is right.

malantone
If rook's are the good guy's of the corvid family as you say, I'll leave them to it. Thank's kent for the info i am learning everyday and try to get out with more experienced shooter's as often as i can. If your a dairy farmer who grows grass then rooks will do you a favour by eating all or alot of root damaging bugs like cranefly larvea. If on the other hand you are an arrable farmer then Rooks will murder a crop as the green shoots appear including potatoes
