ellebarto
Me and my brother bought this gun at the same time and he has somehow managed to break his mag within a week of getting the gun. He thinks he might have tried to load a pellet when there was already one in and the forced the mag out somehow breaking the stop in the mag. Anyway, I cant believe how pricey the mags are and the cheapest Ive seen for the .177 is £38.99. Anyone have a good supplier of BSA mags they can recommend? oscarsdad
That seems to be the price - I have been looking for a second one but they are very expensive. I am tempted to get one machined at work!
ellebarto
Seems like silly money to me and this one did seem to break very easily! Loving the multishot but have read a lot about it being unrliable in the mag area!
oscarsdad
I have found mine to be dependent on what pellets in the mag. Using AA fields, the mag jams a lot, but using accupels, I hardly ever have any problems.
ellebarto
Me and my brother bough one each at the same time. So far Ive put a dozen different types through mine to find the best performing and mine has performed faultlessly. My brothers used 2 different type of pellets and his has been playing up from day one. Just a bad mag from the start I guess!
lineshooter
Bsa have improved the mags now, the new red ones are supposed to be really reliable. Try sending it back to Bsa they used to service them for free, you may be lucky and they send you a new one.
ellebarto
When you say red do you mean the rotating centre part which is blue on both the guns I have!
lineshooter
Yes mate, have a look at this http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=462.0 I have the older model mag and after servicing it as per link I now have no problems.
Welsh Andy
£38.99 is about as cheap as they get I think. Some gun shops seem to be as much as £47,50. I find mine reliable though in function. Andy
ellebarto
When you say red do you mean the rotating centre part which is blue on both the guns I have! I'm a newbie member and I cant access that thread. Can you give me a summary?
lineshooter
Sorry no, it`s rather in depth and a bit technical, you really need to see it. I`ve got a couple of airguns that are over 25 years old, they were brought new as well as a couple that were brought second hand, they still have the original parts and function as if they were new, it does amaze me how new guns break so soon. the_haganizer
I have found mine to be dependent on what pellets in the mag. Using AA fields, the mag jams a lot, but using accupels, I hardly ever have any problems. I found that when I had mine.. Accupels where the best pellets for the mag, others felt too tight and others just seemed to wobble a bit and then didn't always load into the barrel right... The best way to get a decent priced mag is to look round the forums, Fleabay and gun trader etc to see if people are selling one for a little bit cheaper.
