sarol
hi i have been looking at the Weihrauch hw66 rifle. they offer a double set trigger. The models HW 60 J and HW 66 are available at extra charges with Double Set Trigger and / or as single shot (without magazine). the picture shows the rifle has two triggers? how does this work on a single barrel rifle? Front trigger fires the rifle. Use it normally and and its a standard trigger pull. Operate the rear "trigger" (which isn't really) to "set" the front one. Once set, the front trigger has a very, very light let off (so called "hair trigger"). You can also get single set triggers, where you push the trigger forward to "set" it. All a bit unnecessary and potentially dangerous on a field rifle IMHO. Edited June 4, 2011 by Blunderbuss
Beretta28g
If its what i think it is e.g a r/f or c/f rifle whith one trigger setting the oher trigger to a hare trigger setting, i would advise that you stear clear of them as i can see that that would be a easy way to have a lot of accidents. sarol
this trigger set up does seem strange. i would get a single trigger version and set the pull to what i am comfortable with on every pull. thanks for the info. I have a HW60 and the standard trigger is superb, one of the best things about the rifle. It's very adjustable, down to a few ounces but I keep mine at about 2.5 pounds and it breaks like glass
wymberley
Hi, Bit off topic, but may be helpful if you do go for it. I ordered mine having seen the spec on their website and was a bit surprised to say the least when it arrived with an 18" barrel. Neither the retailer nor the importer suggested that this was an option. Tried it and was well pleased so OK, but just be aware. As said, the standard trigger is superb. Getting on a bit and the extremities don't perform too well - had to increase the factory set pull to 1 lb, but that's me not the trigger which remains as smooth as silk and nicely crisp. Cheers Edited June 8, 2011 by wymberley
