JonD
Hi All, Can anyone tell me what I need to do to be able to travel to Northern Ireland legally with a Section 2 Shotgun(s) max of 2, 1 x Semi Auto and 1 x O\U. It's going to be a few months before travelling but would like to get an idea of what is required and roughly how long it will take. We will have an invitation to a competition out there if that makes things easier. Cheers, Jon. Edited June 13, 2011 by JonD
artschool
Anyone wishing to bring firearms into Northern Ireland must first obtain a Northern Ireland Visitor's Firearm Certificate by applying to the following address not less than two months before the proposed arrival date in Northern Ireland. The Police Service of Northern Ireland, Firearms & Explosives Branch, Lisnasharragh, 42 Montgomery Road, Belfast, BT6 9LD Tel: +44 (0) 28 90 650222 Fax: +44 (0) 28 90 922946 Web Site: www.psni.police.uk/firearms E-Mail: firearms@psni.police.uk
darrin
It must have changed in the last 2 years because I went over in October 2009 and all we had to do was fill some forms in at the ferry terminal before we boarded the ferry. poacher boy
You need a NI certificate of approval You need to send a copy of your valid GB firearms certificate, shotgun certificate or the co terminus certificate with the application. There is no charge for the documentation, and its four weeks before arrival. You can contact by email firearms@psni.pnn.police.uk Hope this helps and enjoy your trip
Pastiebap
It must have changed in the last 2 years because I went over in October 2009 and all we had to do was fill some forms in at the ferry terminal before we boarded the ferry. Changed in 2004 when the new order came into force. Forms filled in at a ferry terminal on the mainland has no bearing on PSNI. Certificate of approval application can be downloaded at http://www.psni.police.uk/30-15.pdf
