JustJon
Hi, Looks like I might be on a couple of driven shoots early next year. I've been asked to lead them, and although I'm practicing at rough shooting a few times a week and will be doing lots of clays over the next few months the format and quarry identification for driven species is still lacking. As I'll be with customers and expected to know what I'm doing I wondered if people thought it'd be possible to go and 'watch' a shoot in early season? Just stand at the back and pay attention? Or is this a silly idea? Trying to learn. Anyone think of a better idea? Thanks, J
the_commoner
go onto guns on pegs website, they have some films on there of shoots, they are pretty good and try and get a few days beating somewhere..............providing your shootings up to scratch these two things above should give you half an idea of 'the form'
Cranfield
This sounds like corporate entertaining which means you know which Shoot you will be shooting at. I would suggest that you arrange a meeting with the Shoot Organiser, or at least the Gamekeeper to get the details of the arrangements. The guns you invite are likely to have game identification knowledge and at the pre Shoot chat they will be told what is permissible to be shot, or not.
