Luckily not the latter... Just been to see the keeper on the estate i used to work on and have shot on. Due to personal circumstances i haven't shot for a while but really cant wait to get out again! Although i was pretty sure id still be ok to shoot there its a nice feeling knowing ive still got about 800 acres on my doorstep to play with.

 

I guess as i did spend a fair few years working on and off on the estate and got to know people quite well, still friendly now, it helps. Has anybody ever lost permissions through lack of use or heard of this?

i shoot 18 farms, some farms i may not go on for up to a year,one farm i did not go on for 2 years, went there and still able to shoot it. iv never lost a farm. in all the years iv been shooting.the farmers i shoot for are a great bunch.

I've never lost a farm as such. I've given up on them because I haven't felt wanted, but that's more because when I phoned to say I was going all I got was "oh, ok". Many of the people I shoot for say "great, there are loads of bunnies in ..... field so could you concentrate on that bit".

 

I like to be wanted and appreciated. If I'm not then I'd rather give my time to someone else who does!

The only shoot I've ever lost, is when someone offered to pay to have exclusive shooting rights.

 

With the majority of farms, once you are trusted you are considered an asset.
