fenboy
Might sound a silly question but why can't you run your dog on rape ? I too will not let my dog work on rape stubble ,when cut the stalks can be like arrows and can cut a dog up badly,in fact I they are so sharp I have actually shot a few birds over the years that when they have hit the ground the stalks have gone right through them, swarthed rape is even worse than stubble as the dog may be tempted to jump over it landing on stalks with force. Cranfield
Walk through rape stubble with shorts on and bare legs and you will see why you have to be very careful using a dog. The stubble is thick, very stiff, unyielding and usually with pointed ends. None of my friends will use their dogs in rape stubble.
