miffy
miffy sorry for butting in. check that your barrels not touching the wood THATS IF IT IS A WOODEN STOCK get . £10 note and run it down your barrel and in between the stock as that will throw your group all over Its definately not the barrel touching the stock and it is synthetic. Ok lads, sounds like a good day out.Miffy, what scope and mounts do you have on? If it is the scope and the scope is not a well known one, then you cant go rong with a S & B , with burriss mounts, Let me know how you get on Miffy. It's a Swarovski scope (thought you would know that Frank ) and leupod mounts and its the same set up that has been on the rifle for the last 7 years. Its definately something that has shifted and i am gonna take the Swaro off my .17 and try that on the .250 to see if it is the scope as that is what it seems to be due to the size of the group Miffy (22/250) I watched that group with the mod off ,It was deffinately worst so i wonder if it was the addition of muzzle flip causing the crossair to dance around even more ................Something is deffinately loose mate Any time on the clays ...........Hows Doveridge sound ..........I'll organise a day so kenzie can have his 3rd round of skeet ...........He was lucky As for the target holder .......1m Sq it is then Doveridge sounds good just need as much notice as possible so i can arrange it my end, and i'd make the target board 2M square not 1M just to be on the safe side I went rabbiting with the .17hmr tonight and didn't take the 250 as its broke and i ended up with 17 rabbits (lost one in the long corn and not counted it). I will post pics tomorrow as its a bit late to be messin about with the camera etc.

Dunkield
Nice one Frank The Hp are superb mate ................Zeroing with Miffy tommorrow so hopefully he'll take his camera and post the results ...........Only 100 yds though After taking your advice Frank I got my mate to grab 100 55grn FMJ's for the day out we have planned for Saturday. I was stunned by the accuracy of the CZ using these rounds, we were on a military range so not shooting at targets as such, they only have the figure 11's to shoot at, the sort that drop down and then re-set a second or so later. I still have no idea of grouping as you only have to hit the head and it drops down, but I could hit them everytime off hand at 140 yards, almost(!) all the time at 250 yards and off the bipod out to 450yrds. The longest target there is a full 830 metres - and no, I couldn't I will post some pictures of the range day if anyone is interested, we were at Sennybridge X range with all the 50 cal boys (some other folks on here may have shot there at some time, either as civvies or in the forces..) There were a few people firing tracer, which was fascinating to watch, especially the ricochets! I will definitely be looking at some HP's of those, does anyone know if they shoot to the same zero point as the FMJ's? If they do I can't see the point in me buying ballistic tips. I got 1/2 to 1 inch with the HP at 110yds and around an inch with the FMJs. For the price ( 9 Euro over here) they are the dogs BIG balls. As you say Stuart, why have expensive Ballistic tips, when these do the jobs just aswell? On the subject of impact with the different bullet weights, the hallow points, 50 grain, hit a bit lower then the 55 gr FMJ, about an inch difference in my rifle, if thats any help Stuart. The HP will be my foxing round for now anyway. Edited April 23, 2006 by Frank
