harrycatcat1
I am in the process of making a motherline and just wondered what others used as an anchor. It is possible to buy them but just to keep me occupied I thought I would have a go. ( I sound like Stubby) I will put some photos up once its finished. I don't fancy carting something like the anchor that Popeye carries in the cartoons, but strong enough to be effective. Thanks in advance. scolopax
About 6" of lead piping, pu a wire loop in one end and hammer flat. Or go to a fishing tackle shop and buy a lead weight in the ½ lb to 1 lb range.
silver pigeon 3
I use lead hammered flat the same as scolopax, i was using the 1lb anchors that you can buy but they have got teeth on that grip the bottom lovely but also grip anything else on the way in. I lost 3 in 2 weeks and it was getting a bit expensive!
