twitchynik
Whereabouts in your pattern are you guys and girls putting the flapper? I'm thinking of a common or garden 'U' or 'L' pattern with a couple of floaters either side further out where the pigeons are coming from and then sticking the flapper tight in the pattern nearest the hide, sort of under the killzone. Does that sound about right? Edited August 2, 2011 by twitchynik
shakin stevens
ive got two flappers now and have been trying different ways and your not far off with what you think. Im running a horse shoe setup with bouncers at the back to draw birds in, then the flappers tight in on the sides, both flappers on timers, it looks and works good one bird stops and the other starts making it look like birds moving in, ive dumped the rotary now i like this setup. rgds bob. steve_b_wales
I use a flapper, mainly for corvids. I place it out in the front of the decoys, raised about 4ft off the ground, facing into the pattern. It gives the impression of a Crow flying into the decoys, and works well. Slightly different from pigeons, I know, but deadly for Crows/Jackdaws.
