20 gauge choke size?

bought me lad a 20 bore last week gun shop didnt have choke measure for twenty bore but he says thinks it is 1/4 and half ,whilst stripping it to clean found o.16 stamped on both top and bottom barrels any idea what choke size that isanyone,,thanks in advance for any help

I`m just guessing but I would imagine that 0.16 is 16mm which I would hazzard a guess as the metric size of the BORE,the choke will be better gauged if you shoot at a large sheet of paper/cardboard at 30yds and then work out the percentage of shot in a 30" circle and that will give a better idea than any choke gauge.

The diameter of a 20 bore is .615 which is 15.621inches so assuming that the "16" is the choke (.629 inches) then the choking would appear to be 3/8ths.

On the other hand the "16" could refer to something else. :good: and it could just be an oversised bore. Which means you still don't know what the choke is, and one of those brass choke gauges would be wrong by at least 3/8ths of choke.
