semiautolee Posted August 5, 2011 Report Share Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) right guys, today i decided to take my speed controller to bits as the turny k n o b doesnt seem to control the speed anymore?? when i turn it nothing happens so when i opened it up i have found a break in the circuit board see pic below! what i was wondering was can i just solder the break back up or is it just for the bin now?? its the only one i have and i need it ahhhh! any advice chaps?? 12borejimbo Posted August 5, 2011 Report Share Posted August 5, 2011 To be fair i find them a bit pointless, I had one, more hassle than they are worth, took it off and set the rig up straight to the battery with the crocodile clips! Can't be certain without seeing it in the flesh, but.. it looks as though 3 tracks have been overheated and burn't off the solder resist? The one arrowed has also blown the copper tracking (a bit like a fuse). In theory you could easily solder a bit of wire over the break - BUT there must be a reason why it melted in the first place and odds are that one or more components are also goosed.
