pigeonstew
would a cradle for dead birds help cool the bird on a hot day ?? are birds used out in the decoy pattern for say 5 to 6 hours ok to eat at the end of days shooting or only fit for freezing for further decoy use ?? Beardo
i don't think cradles will make much difference. if they're out all day they'll be fly blown - i chop one foot off (so they can be identified easily) and bung 'em in the freezer to use as decoys on another day. motty
Not fit to eat buddy fox food only in hot weather Not always. I use cradles alot and they mostly go to the game dealers with no problem. The odd bird may go green and has to be chucked, in really hot weather. If the flies get them in the beak, i pull off the heads. I'll also check under the wings etc for fly eggs, too.
