hi, just wondering if any1 can help me out, i got my sgc back about 2 weeks ago and went and bought myself a new baikal 12g over and under, 2 days ago from york guns. i decided on a baikal because its was only 530 new with garauntee and it will do me as an all rounder mainly ill be rough shooting, and the odd time with clays, and i more wanted something that was going to last aswell as not having to worry about nocking it about as the looks dont matter to much to me i think its what you hit that counts. Anyway my question is i got it home after the sales man told me not to clean off the factory grease as its the better stuff and just to clean the barrels, i cleaned the barrels and decided to clean the action anyways because it had quite a bit of metal shavings about it. it seems realy stiff when cocking it back up, will this go away with time or does it need a good oiling to loosen things it? any comments much appriciated cheers :)

Don't worry about the action being a bit stiff to close. This will gradually get easier as you use the gun. You can always open and close the action many times when the gun is empty, to help break it in.

Don't over clean the gun either, especially oil near the stock.

You'll get many good years out of the Baikal. I had one for 9 years from new, and it never failed me once. Good luck with it! :good:
