No recalls on the 3.1 only the 3.0.

I've got a 3.1 it's got 150+k miles an don't miss a beat, bit heavy on the juice but I do have MT fitted and I only use it for shooting or trips to the tip.

Gone through last 3 MOT with no work required, it's no oil painting but is a tough old work horse

Could do with a filter oil change ad adjust the tappets but other than that it's faultless

Ive had loads of cars and 4x4 new and old but this trooper is the best value for money vehicle I've had

The isuzu owners forum is full of help and info

Hth

first thing to look for is if its got a trooper badge on the back, if it dose, walk away, fast!!!

Why??

I think your getting Confussed with "landrover" and yes I can say that as I've had 3 range rovers 2 discoveries and 1 90. Never again after having this trooper

If you are looking at the 3.0 ring Isuzu GB and ask for customer services, they will tell you what recall work has been done, if it hasn't had any you can still get it done free of charge, as long as you can find a dealer to do it!

The 4WD shift on the fly setup gives problems, its run off switches/solenoids and vacuum piping and is usually a pretty easy fix, maybe just a loose wire or split vac pipe as the gubbins is all mounted on the front axle and gets full of cack

I'm going to fix mine and plan on moving all the bits into the engine bay, as the Frontera B have.

You will get all this info and more (like I did!), off www.itocuk.co.uk :good:

The solenoids cost about £150.00 to replace, but to contrary belief they can be taken apart and cleaned in just a few minutes.

My trooper has 82k on the clock on an S plate and still pulls like a train, tanks usually rot on top and also the glow plugs can be a pig to change if they have never been touched.

Starting can be a problem, make sure if its a 3.0 that its been run on the correct oil, if not they will not run correctly.

Second that !

The 3.0 MUST use 5/30's fully synthetic (saying that my local dealer says semi-synth if you stick to the 6k miles oil changes, but I use full synth)

Milners Off Road do all 4 filters for about £15 with delivery! They have a secondary oil filter for the fuel injectors, as they are fired by oil pressure, Isuzu say maintenance free but it seems most change them anyway, hence 4 filters :good:

they are a very powerful motor, 169 bhp & 246 lb ft torque, at 2200 rpm, literally pulls like a train and mine does 30 mpg all day, just drive like a nun!
