Cosd
A friend of mine is getting permision to shoot pigeons on a farm which also does pheasant shooting. I understand it will probably vary from farm to farm, but when would you expect to have to stop shooting the woodies prior to the beginning of game season, and how soon after the season is finished would woodie shooting usually commence? rimfire4969
I think finishing will be dependant on the shoot. If there is a big pigeon problem i expect the farmer would want them shot at whenever. We normaly get back on the pigeon start of Feb. Ferretboy111
I allow people to shoot them- but only if they are positioned on a hedge which acts as a dogging in point close by or miles away from the pens. A
TJ91
i shoot up until sept 1st on 2 farms (1 syndicate shoots pheasant over them both) and then can start again feb 2nd. On the 1 estate we can only shoot 1st may- july 25th but on 3 other farms and 1 small estate i shoot all year round, but usually stay clear a day either side of any driven pheasant day on the farms! every farmer/syndicate has a different view on the matter, but i know my pigeon shooting doesnt bother the pheasants enough for them to ****** off completely the smaller estate i shoot over often invites me out onto the rape on the days of a shoot as the birds are kept moving and it usually produces my best winter rape bags!
