wildfowler.250
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the black 'lever' on the left hand side of the receiver,(right handed gun) is for? has it got something to do with loading the gun but keeping it 'safe'? I'm a bit perplexed Also, is there a speed unloading feature? Cheers! Edited August 26, 2011 by CZ452
alexf
I think it is to do with the speed loading feature, if you watch the fieldsports video from a couple of weeks ago the one where mark Gilchrist is shooting from a combine harvester he shows it in some detail. Cheers! the lever on the side locks off the magazine tube.once locked you can eject the cartridge in the chamber without another being fed into chamber.handy if you need to quickly change to a bigger shell or non toxic.if you turn the gun upsidedown push the carrier up and push your finger on the left hand side of the chamber it will eject cartridge without having to cycle the bolt...hope this helps... wildfowler.250
Cheers guys the lever on the side locks off the magazine tube.once locked you can eject the cartridge in the chamber without another being fed into chamber.handy if you need to quickly change to a bigger shell or non toxic. Thanks, I get that! if you turn the gun upsidedown push the carrier up (gotchya so far) and push your finger on the left hand side of the chamber , (slightly confused here) it will eject cartridge without having to cycle the bolt...hope this helps... I am pretty sure I understand what you are on about. Does it eject both cartridges in the magazine or just one at a time? I'll have a play around with the gun and try and work it out. Many thanks again guys
shot shot
Left side lever: Magazine cut off From a fully loaded state, pull lever back, pull bolt to rear, the shell ejects and the bolt locks back, replace shell with another (perhaps for fox). Release the bolt. If you don't push the cut off forward again the bolt will lock back once the shells been fired. From an empty chamber, rounds in magazine, pull lever back, pull back bolt. The bolt locks to the rear, pushing the lever forward cycles a shell into the chamber. The speed load feature, from an empty gun, feed a shell into the magazine and let the shell lifter come down, the shell will cycle into the chamber. A word of warning, you can't load the magazine with the cut-off in place, the shells can get stuck between it and the receiver. To "speed" unload, turn the gun over, and press your thumb against the shell release on the left, the shell slides back into your hand. (I use my thumb, as my fingers get pinched)

wildfowler.250
Sorry Guys, I have sussed the speed loading. speed unloading. 2 in the mag and flicking lever to chamber a round. I am slightly puzzled with the changing one shell whilst keeping 2 in the mag? Load gun with 3 shells, flick lever up. empty first shell...then what? if I load a heavy then press the release bolt it wont budge because the lever is up? But if I empty the first shell, and then put the lever down it will bring up a catridge from the mag and jam the gun?? When you empty/extract the chambered shell with teh mag lock ON you can now put in another shell (normally of a different shot size) and hit the bolt release button to chamber that shell.
