apache
It's not 'normal'. What did you use to worm the pup?
Piebob
I can't remember the brand names off the top of my head, but my cocker used to be sick with a particular wormer, so we simply changed to another brand.

arwen3513
hi for young pups I use the liquid wormer Panacur i think, One bottle does a few months worth of doses. just adjust the ml for the kgs as they grow. jan
apache
Go and buy a decent wormer, that went out with the ark! Panacur or Drontal puppy liquid are the best and is used properly (Panacur is for 3 consecutive days) will kill 99% of the worm burden. The old drugs (like theone you bought) may leave 30-40% of the worms behind and are associated with more side effects!

Boromir
Gave my 4 year old lab the wormer from the supermarket once, next day took him out and he was sick inside the Orange mobile shop But give mine Drontal plus now not a problem since. BenBhoy
drontal plus always works fine and flavoured tablets so dogs take them fairly easily.
darren m
Apache -- what do you think of milbemax puppy wormer my vet gave me a couple of samples for my new pup, when i took her for her 1st jabs. Another question are Drontal , panacur and milbemax compatable ie . if you happen to have some left over from last pup - thanks
apache
Milbemax is an excellent product and the one we stock at the surgery. It is prescription only and has to be bought through vets. The tablets are safe and effective and much more convenient than the liquids. It is my first choice. Keepers and breeders often use the Panacur/Drontal puppy as it works out cheaper when doing a litter. In terms of compatibility - it wouldn't matter if different puppies in the litter were wormed with different products. They are all very safe but don't give a half dose of 2 products to the same puppy at the same time. When you think the money you spend on a puppy a couple of [pounds to worm it with something safe and effective is insignificant.
