Dunkield
I need a fixed choke taking out from 3/4 to 1/2, I would have thought a fairly quick job for a gunsmith, but I have been quoted 2 weeks and £60. So, the question is, before I start doing the rounds, is this about normal? or am I right in thinking that is a bit steep and also a long turn round time? chrisv
Stuart, Have a look at Teague's other site www.precisionchokes.co.uk It hasn't been updated (prices) for a while, but it gives choke alteration as £30/barrel and moderation to a specific distance and cartridge £60/ barrel. Not sure of time to do it. This at least gives you a guide.
darren m
i,ve had it done by 2 different gunsmiths on 2 different guns ( AYA , Baikal ) , both charge £30 to take a full out to half and they both took less than a week .
Dunkield
Thanks lads, I had afigure of £30 in mind, as it can only be a quick whizz with a reamer.
