Hard day on the pigeons

Gazyapp and myself went out on saturday to shoot over some rape drillings that the birds had been hitting hard all last week. We arrived at the fields about 11.00 to find nothing there apart from a few crows so we went and had a look at the wheat stubble that id shot the afternoon before. There was a few birds feeding on the fields and a few had started using the flight line again. We reluctently set up the deeks and flapper and got sat in the hide. The birds took very little notice of the pattern and we only managed to shoot a few crossers. I put the magnet out and the birds started showing a bit more interest. Come 1.30 we packed up and headed back to the rape drillings to find 5-600+ birds feeding and flighting about. A spot was chosen and the hide and pattern set. The birds were very skitty and didnt want to decoy at all no matter what changes we made to the pattern. We called it a day at 5.30 with 35 woodies, 7 ferals, 4 crows and a jackdaw

Cheers

Ben
