gavaroo
I've just bought a lightforce lance but don't have a battery for it yet. Was going to just buy or try and source a 12V motorbike battery for it but just wondering if anyone can help with any particulars of what specification is best? Is any generic 12V battery ok or is there something else I need to look out for? Cheers, Gav.
remy 700
try a web search fo aa decoys , they have some great bat prices , for a lance 140 you will need a heavy bat like a 12v 17a/h , if it was a striker 170 even that would not last long , you should then have enough juice for a couple of hours lamping on /off , you could go for a new lithium from deben! cheers remy
landrover
we have the 170 and use a 12v 7ah battery it will last for 2-3 hours
wymberley
we have the 170 and use a 12v 7ah battery it will last for 2-3 hours Yep, I use 14 Ah only because I do't walk anywhere. Unless you like to keep the countryside well lit or have a part time job as a street light, it'll last a couple of outings, if not more. gavaroo
Thanks guys. Ok so am I right in saying that the higher the "ah" the longer the battery lasts or is it the opposite?
remy 700
Yes the higher the a/h the longer your battery will last , check out aa decoys they have all the bats mentioned above up to the monster heavy one i have they start at £10 , its a new website and they are going to be adding the rest of there stock soon , not an advert they are just cheap , ta remy

So are the higher ah batteries also bigger and heavier then?
remy 700
yes , the 12v 14 a/h is probably the best all rounder , not to heavy but lasts a couple of hours , cheers
Norrie
Gav..I've got a couple of 12V setups here...only 2x6V 10amp stuff, but yer welcome to them if you want, they last a couple of hours, and should keep you going till you buy a better battery... I bought a cheap battery booster for £35, and took the 12V 17amp battery out of it,.threw the rest away... its a crackin thing, almost better than the Powacaddy battery I use...... SAK0
If you are on foot a lot get a lithium battery if cost isn't an issue you hardly know you've got them. I've used a 21ah battery with my blitz for years but it needs to go in a rucksack. If you spend a lot of time searching for carcasses you can drain the smaller batteries and get rather annoyed. As said 14ah is about the best all rounder but now I use a 22ah lithium and would never go back to lead acid but could get away with a lower ah. bullet boy
If you can afford it get a Deben Lithium ION battery.I've got the 12V 22ah version and it's the best by far battery available plus the newer ones have a 'Fuel Gauge' to let you know how much power you have!Brilliant!!
