I know we have a few clay shooters on here and so was wondering if we had any members of this club if you are could you please tell me the benifits i would have if i joined them. i have been shooting clays for 4 years and regulary beat my dad and other adults in local comps and have been told by a few really good clay shooters who i know i should join the Cpsa and i would get expert training to help me improve even more as i have no technique and have only been to 3 lessons.

Any advice would be great Thanx

Have a look at their website. Find out what the benefits are (i.e. do you get any discounts etc?) and compare it with the cost of membership.

I was thinking of joining, but being a member of BASC, the Countryside Alliance, and my local clay club, I could just go on and on joining more organisations.

Neil,

With respect, you are wrong - you have to be a member of the CPSA to represent your County at Regional level.

It all really depends on whether you are a serious clay shooter or not.

If you are happy to limit your shooting to the odd 30 bird sporting at a local straw bale shoot, all well and good, then the CPSA is probably not for you.

Don't be taken in by the insurance "conscience pricker" - all shooting organisations, BASC, CPSA etc keep droning on about the valuable insurance cover that comes with membership of their organisation, but what most people don't realise is that if you are a homeowner, you are probably already covered for 3rd party liability under your household policy.

As anyone in insurance knows, you can't insure the same risk twice - (would you take out 2 policies on your motor car??)

I would have to say, having seen the pics of your nice new Perazzi, you should be itching to join the CPSA and get some registered scores behind you. In your part of the world, now that Martin Elworthy has put away his guns, Cornwall is your oyster...!!!
