missedagainstan
Hi all I've been reading all the posts over the past couple of weeks about the 17hmr and what a great rifle you all think it is , you've talked me into it and I'm going to apply for one. At the moument I'm just applying to renewing my firearms licence and currently use a sako finfire .22rf. How much ammo should apply for on the form, to keep and buy at any one time? At tha moument with the 22rf I can buy 500 and keep 600 rounds. I've tryed phoneing my local FAO but he's on leave (lucky chap) and the girls in the office dont seem much help bless u'm. Devilishdave
I have buy 500 keep 600 on both .17 and .22. You are getting some serious (Profesional) usage if that is not enough. Dave
Axe
Axe, I tried that one with Essex Police and was told "economy is not a valid reason" Cheers Martin Thats a shame because I know of at least two local FEO's that suggest it! You could add, because I shoot so much I intend to make the most of the discounts.
missedagainstan
Thanks all I finally got in touch with the FAO taday and had a chat, basicly it's up to your self how much you want to keep by the amount of shooting you do. I dident know if buying 500 rounds sounded to many, but it seems a tiny amount compaired to what some of you shoot Buy in bulk it is then
dunganick
yes storing it can be a real pain, we have rimfire coming out of our ears at the moment as i havent been to bisley in over 6months. It wouldnt be unusual to go through 250-350 rounds on the 50 yard bench target and also the running boar setup and i used to be there every month at least. truth be known i dont need anywhere near what i can have, but why not have this much, you dont have to buy that amount. kent must have been feeling nice on my last application .223 1000 to buy and 1500 to hold i only have 100 rounds of brass
deadeye ive
Buying in bulk for discount is not a valid reason and I have to agree with that !...........A valid reason for the aquirement of a large batch of ammo in one go would be to keep to the same batch number. Just think it's like buying wallpaper with the mrs ...........To guarentee the same quality you make sure the batch numbers are the same per roll . The equipment used to make this rimfire ammo will be re-calibrated to a set time schedule . I have buy 500 and keep a 1000
