A pitted pin wont help,but a weak spring wont either.I would take it to your local dealer for a look see.

There was a time when batches of 'hard' primers weren't unknown.but I would be surprised if this problem persisted today.Possibly a combination of a weak spring and a hard primer?101's are old guns nowadays;it wouldn't hurt to have it serviced,or at least looked at.

I guess you are right, I just like to do the amateur gunsmith bit and understand where the problem is first.
