To me Christmas has lost much of it's "Christian" meaning and is now treated far to much as just an excuse for over indulgence and (Most of) the children nowadays have got far too materialistic with their "I want this and I want that" attitude! Let's face it most parents will go out of their way to try to make their children happy and buy them what they want even if it does lead them into debt and they have to spend the next year paying for all of the "I wants" just to have to start all over again ready for the next Christmas. Many poeple say that Christmas is a time for families to get together, why is that, why should families need Christams as an excuse to get together, is there some reason why they can not get together at any other time of the year? As for the shops putting their Christmas decorations up in November, well what can I say, it is all about commercialism and making even more money out of the general public, money which quite often the general public (Especially the not so well off families) just can not afford to spend nowadays. I might be seen as a bit of a scrouge but I believe that I am right in what I am saying! Happy Christmas Guys, I hope Santa brings you all that you have asked for! But i agree that its all retail scams these days. I read somewhere that some supermarkets are selling mince pies that will be out of date before xmas! Its probably due to how the bank hols fall, most people have time off at xmas so its easier to get everyone together.
