Right then airgunners, ive got a cometa 300 air rifle with 3-9x40 scope and bisley mounts. It has a couple of little scratches where ive lent it up againsed a fence. Its about 2-3 years old and has had about 1000 pellets through it.

How much do you think its worth ?

Im thinking of buying a gas powered air rifle as im not getting my FAC until im 18 now but dont want to spend too much money so i want to find out how much money i'll have to save up.

Thats what im doing...

Cant see anywhere where i have said im going to buy one.

Anyways... what air CO2 air rifles like. PCPs are obviously very good but they're very expensive. I've had a look at a rabbitstopper, what are they like ?

I have just used my ratcatcher and it groups in one hole at 20 yards, recoilless, quiet and cheap. Lacking a bit with power though. I might be selling my BSA Supersport Carbine with Gas-Ram soon, PM me if you are interested.

 don't know about the rabbitstopper, never used one. but the ratcatcher isn't too bad, very lightweight & good for about 30 yards & about 25-35 shots from a co2 bulb (mine's been adapted with a .177 smoothbore for steel bb's & fires 3-at-once in a 1/2" group at 30 yards). be aware that any weapon using co2 (including "airsource" is noticably affected by environmental temperatures (ie. variations in power & number of shots). otherwise they're generally a good buy, but the bulbs can be expensive (i pay £8 for a box of 10 walther, i don't use crossman as they tend to damage the punch & don't seem to last as long :D ). better if you can arrange a discount for bulk-purchase. :yp: ratcatcher costs around £85 & uses 1 bulb for about 5fp, rabbitstopper uses 2 bulbs for about 10-11fp (don't know about price). decide for yourself what you'd be comfortable with. :/

I totally agree with FM on this one, a good second hand AirArms or maybe a Daystate will cost you around £280-£350 depending on the kit it has with it and will last a hell of a lot longer than a rabbit stopper or ratcatcher + it will be alot more suited to taking out the longer range rabbits (35-40 yards). I bought a AirArms S310 (the model before the S410 came out) second hand and still have it 3 years later and it is as good as it ever was apart from the odd scratch ect.

the crossman's are just toys really and wil be a step down from what you allready have,a pcp is the best but obviously not the cheapest option.if your funds are limited you could consider moving up to a better springer ie hw, tx or bsa etc ,plenty of good stuff about new and second hand, and you will not have to buy any charging gear. :welcomeani:
