Dave410
I've got quite an old model Air Arms S410 with a 10 shot mag. Havent used the rifle for sometime and now has a problem with the cocking mech which turns the magazine to the next pellet. Now I have no exerience in pulling guns apart, so would this be an expensive fix to take it to a local gun shop? Also as Ive not used to gun for well over a year, is it worth having it serviced with fresh gas before I go into the woods? Thanks alot, Dave

swift
sounds like you need a new indexing spring.
turbo33
sounds like you need a new indexing spring. Here on evil bay. Item number: 250633668522
jacksdad
Agreed, the spring can snap, usually when using though: it can get stuck in place when not used, so might need easing back up to the correct height, have a new one ready though! You only need to remove the side plate to gain access to the indexing mech, check and give it a light lube whilst its apart
Dave410
Thanks for the ebay number mate gonna get one ordered. Ive just noticed, sometimes it turns but mostly it doesnt, if this makes any difference? Easy fix? I might needs a step by step haha
blasterjudd
Who says Air Arms are the mutts not by the sound of things?
jacksdad
Why? its an easy fix, and how much are the springs, about a tenner? My S310 is still going strong, I've tweaked the spring a couple of times but other than that its been indexing away for years! The whole gun is easy to strip/rebuild and maintain, so should last for many years more
Dave410
Who says Air Arms are the mutts not by the sound of things? After 10 years its only needed a £10 part, not bad going if you ask me.

timmytree
Try "bgaltd" on AAOC for spares. Much cheaper.
