Evening chaps,

I have an SA2 springer in .177 and I'm using it more and more nowadays for all sorts. I'm looking into getting a telescopic sight set up and a moderator for it. It goes off with quite a crack. I have two questions that I hope PW can answer for me. A) will a moderator help with the noise and B) as the barrel is not threaded can I tap it out myself to a common thread and fit a mod for that thread or do I need to find a specially branded one with adaptor etc and send the rifle to a 'smith?

Thanks all. :good:

Thanks Mr Beardo! :good:

Edit, checked the muzzle end, and the barrel is totally covered by a plastic shroud supporting the fore sight. :hmm: Not sure now how to get round this as I don't really want to remove the fore sights and reducing it back may damage its integrety.

its more that it takes around 2000's pellets for all the parts to mate together a bit and smooth out which will break the rifle in and reduce noice quite a bit gradually, and also that its generally accepted that springers dont make much noise anyway, and the sound of the spring cannot be / is hard to dampen anyway so a supressor doesnt do much, also the fact its not an extremely well known make might stop some answering :)
