M ROBSON
A local farmer Has just planted some loopins, he says the pigeons will have a go at them but they aren't common in this area. Does anyone know at what stage the birds will eat them, if they eat them at all.
Hammergun
Have a look at this topic - http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...=1547&hl=lupins
MAJ
Oh yes indeed. Pigeons love lupins, young and tender. I recently had a cracking couple of hours with a shooting buddy of mine on a field of loops, and the birds never really left the field. When we took a shot , they just flew round and came straight back at us. Out of interest, has anybody noticed that pigeon meat varies in flavour depending on what they have been eating? The birds we shot on this day had a definite "perfume" taste.
