Livefast123
Hi all, Just thought i'd introduce myself and hopefully get some advice from people who actually know what they're doing!! I have just decided that I want to take up clay pigeon shooting after what seems like a millenia of air rifle usage. I want to join the local club ut I also have some pest control duties on my uncles farm when I go back there. I've been looking at the Hatsan Escort Magnum semi auto as a way to clay shoot (for fun) and have some practicality on the farm. I would be selling my Falcon FN12 to fund this and would hopefully be going for a FAC as I could then have up to seven shots with the extended mag. Does this sound like a problemsome route to go down with regards to getting the FAC? The reason I want an FAC is that I could then have a .22 on it for the farm work as well and not have to have 2 licences.

ste12b
Shouldn't be a problem. It may be expensive if you go for SGC and FAC when you are only looking at a 7 shot and a .22. May be cheaper to just go for the FAC, but make sure you say that you want to use the shotgun for clays.

Livefast123
Thats what I was thinking ste12b get the FAC to cover both instead of having to have 2 licences. I was just wondering if they would raise eyebrows at having a 7 shot to shoot clays or does this not make a difference. Being new to this I don't really know what to tell them apart from I want a shotgun to shoot clays and a .22 to do some farm work. Does this sound resonable Anyone had any experience with Avon and Somerset licencing??
Thunderbird
I have and the FEO I had was great and the licence came in a couple of weeks, that was just a SGC though. There is a clay shoot near you too called Woodspring Bay Shoot. It's at Wick St Lawrence. Only ever load 2 shells at a clay ground though. Does this sound reasonable If you want the shotgun for farm work and clays, then it should not be a problem or make a difference. You will only be able to use two cartridges in it at the clay ground though (even for full use of gun ). You may also want to do practical shotgun.
