Guest jonrms
Well first BIG thank you to everyone.... Got in touch with Paul Hart... and secured a nice cabinet with ammo box inside for a very nice sum..... Then went to Brandsburton gun shop.. and put a deposit on this.... S/H Bruno .22 Bolt action Rifle with scope.. it comes with a 5? shot mag... and I can easily get a 10 shot for it... Cheap as chips.. and only has a couple of small scratches on the stock.... but a bit of pollish and spit will cure... cost of the rifle... 170.00... cost of cabinet.. 100.00 Cost of the smile on my face right now... ( PRICELESS! ) for all things money can buy.... pigeon watch members give the rest!!!!! < sorry really corny! pps I am hoping the fac cert for the 22 will be no problem.. hence my deposit on the rifle.... fingers crossed. Stealth Stalker
Well done Jonrms sounds like you got yourself a bargain. I too went down the same sort of route as you, getting tips & advice from other forum members. All the advice given freely really is priceless, hope you get your licence soon so you can start posting the results. Cheers SS

Guest jonrms
Thank you ... I was told to put on my fac application.. most ammo to buy was 5000.. and the most to carry was 7500.... then i went down the humberside guns.. ie bransburton.. and they said no no..... dont do that.. so i put 500 to buy and 1000 to carry... well its in the post.. so too late for changes... pps i hope i am not wasting there time by me putting a deposit on the rifle.... I heard the bruno .22 is a great and forgiving rifle. so when i seen it i was over the moon... not to mention that you can pre load the clips before you go on the field.. and then just change them quickly.... I also included in my application a sound moderator.. much better for vermin.. well i hope all goes well and i can stop using the air rifle........ i will be able to get far more bunnys with the bruno than my ags rifle... oh yeah.. do you need a licence to shoot rabits? I was told I did... if I do.. I am going tommorow to pick one up... but according to the basc.. it said you dont as they are classed as vermin... please dont shout.. thanks you. Ferret Master
Hi, They are classed as ground game but you do not need a game licence to shoot them. FM
dunganick
unless you are tresspassing, in which case intrestingly you do need a game lisence
Guest jonrms
Thanks for that.. I was told that even if I had permission etc... I still needed to have a licence to shoot the rabits... but if not even better... I might just go pay the 6£ anyway just to avoid confusion... oh yeah. I know you can legally go out shooting with a friend without a FAC with a shotgun... but I have heard the rules are differant with a 22... is this correct? And for agurment sake.. its on my own land.... and I have a 22 spare.. if he / she doesnt have a FAC they can be charged with armed trespassing.. and I can get charged with what ever???
