game_keeper
Hi there all, i was just looking on an airgun website and saw a spirit level for a scope. In my opinion i thought that they was a waste of time. I was wondering if anyone on here uses them? and if so, how do u rate them? reefman
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Load of old **** save your money. If your scope is mounted correctly(chuck Hawkes does a good article) just improve your rifle mounting technique. Verticle Cross hair against a plumb line is a good starting point to know if you have the gun correctly mounted. Reefman
young airgunner
just hold your rifle level lol so that the cross hairs are square to your target, no need for a spirit level
SNAKEBITE
I have had trouble setting the scope up square in the past but the last time I saw the level was about £30 so I learnt to do it properly!!!

Theskyfox
lol yeah, tbh when doing mine my dad had a spare mini spirit level for DIY tasks. It balanced nicely on the top of the scope, and it was only a cheapo one, did the trick fine, u only need to do it once really.
killer rabbit (r1000)
why waste your money? use your own eye some people prefer them at an angle & who cares, as long as you can work with it?
Lancs Lad
why waste your money? use your own eye some people prefer them at an angle & who cares, as long as you can work with it? Always made me wonder this one.......unless you have 4 eyes..........your taking a shot......lining it up........you think its straight,,,,,,,,you take your eye off your target....cock your head back..........to check your spirit level............ **** off.............its moved........guess why.............cos you have.............. Spirit level.................mounted OUTSIDE A SCOPE..............usefull.................chocolate fire guard................ashtray on a motorbike..............................stair gate for a bungalow...................nice fitting shoes for Heather Mills Mcartney.......... leeboy
I know a lot of FT shooters use them but I've always considered them to be a waste of money. I certainly dont think they are of any use in the field shooting at live targets and agree totally with Lancs Lad. Also I think that it is a personal thing. 9 times out of 10 I find that if I mount someones else's gun the x hairs dont appear truly square to me. The same goes for my gun If a friend shoots it. I think that if the x hair is square when you mount your gun and that any adjustment made to the turrets moves the point of impact correctly then you should not have a problem even if things are technicaly slightly out of square. regards Leeboy
