tignme
Buy a loading manual before you get kit and have a good read.
Redgum
A reloading manual is the place to start, I have the lee 2nd edition and find it very useful plus lots of loads on hogdons site. Opticswarehouse have some good prices on reloading manuals.
wallysmarksrn
hi their, why not try a 55g vmax load,i use vit n 130 with 22.5grains. still very accurate out to 200yards, with more clout. but as others have said, buy a manual, and a good set of scales. njc110381
Try 52gr A-Max - they're fine for Foxes and great for targets. Benchmark was the best powder I ever found for my rifle. I used to load 25gr Benchmark under a 52gr A-Max with a CCI small rifle primer, Lapua brass, 2.200 OAL. In my CZ that would group well under MOA out to 200 yards plus. BlackEagle
I also recommend the Lee reloading manual. Find someone who reloads already and knows what they are doing and ask them for help setting up your reloading kit and getting started with the reloading. Reloading is rewarding because you can "tailor" your rounds to your particular gun, and I've found I can reload for half to a quarter of the price of factory loads, with better precision. I get a lot of satisfaction knowing when I squeeze the trigger and the gun goes "bang" I made that round. There are some You-Tube videos that are helpful. Once you have the reloading basics down, you can experiment with bullet weight, powder weight, overall length, etc. You will find that different case brands need a new "load" work-up. For example, my PMC cases use 22.4 grains of N-140, while my PPU cases give best groups with 24.6 grains of N-140. My Styer Elite with a tactical barrel with 1:9 twist likes 69 grain SMK heads. I have used CCI and Remington primers with equally good results. I can get 10 rounds in a 1/2" group at 100 yards. It took a while, but I'm happy with the results. barrelsniffer
What twist is your barrel ? for 400yds i would go heavier than 50..i use 50 out to 300 on foxes but anything further i use a heavier bullet to buck the wind..and its bloody windy where i shoot.
