Over the passed month it has been frustrating trying to find the pigeon. After many miles we would locate a few in woods feeding on acorns this would mean that I would set up on the edge of one wood and decoy the base of an oak tree and DB would do the same on an ajacent wood. You will see from the first three photos my results and DB had very similar results. Today we had the first proper shoot for some time with birds actually decoying. This was on a rape field but the birds shot had a mixture of acorns, hawthorn berries and clover in them.

Looks like you are getting amongst them now! That is some good shooting- is the hide in the 3rd picture a home-made one? Not sure I've ever seen one that looks like that, just curious as to what it's made of. Whichever way, well done.

It was an old Cold War camo net which was made to represent the pine forests of Eastern Russia. I went into an Indian fabric shop with some leaves in my pocketand bought ten yards of cheap fabric matching the leaves. I then wove them into the net and now have a spring/summer side and a winter side.
